Olmo

Portugal / 2025

Olmo is a specialty coffee shop rooted in the heart of Planta Livre Plant Nursery, in Sintra. More than a place to grab a coffee, it’s a space designed for slow moments, quiet walks among plants, and gentle pauses in good company.

The name Olmo (Portuguese for elm tree) evokes a sense of shade, wisdom, and timeless nature — a symbol that guided the entire brand development. From naming to visual identity, every detail was shaped to reflect a calm, organic and welcoming atmosphere.

The Shelter

Like the shade of a tree providing shelter, the Olmo offers protection and refuge to the animals that reside there.

The Fables

At the heart of the brand lies a series of original fables, each one bringing to life a symbolic character of the forest: the bird, the fox, the owl, and the rabbit. These stories invite us to slow down, to observe, and to listen.

Rooted in nature and emotion, the fables help build an imaginative world that brings the brand closer to its audience through storytelling, empathy, and a touch of magic.

The Coffee Shop

As part of the project, we developed the interior design of Olmo’s Coffee Shop, integrated within Planta Livre. The goal was to create a concept that could be easily replicated in future Olmo locations, while maintaining strong brand recognition.

The visual identity was translated into the space using accessible, low-cost materials — balancing warmth, simplicity, and a sense of continuity with the brand’s essence.
